New speed record in the country with an electric rocket

The record for land vehicles of 1.227 km / h was established in 1997 by the ThrustSSC. The electric rocket from Venturi comes up at this pace but is unfortunately not yet loose from any gasoline-powered sports car.

The Venturi "Jamais Contente" has a 800 hp electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. He drove a one speed record for electric cars from an average speed of over 495 km / h, at a distance of one kilometer in length, which was driven in two directions.

The salt lake at Bonneville racer reached a top speed of 515 km / h. Situated was the record of the driver Roger Schroer, in cooperation with the Ohio State University.
