Spied:Mercedes C-Class Sport Coupe with Redesigned Interior

Following on from our previous spy photos of the car earlier this year, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sport Coupe has been spotted on the road again, this time revealing its redesigned interior over the sedan model. Having almost faced the axe before new boss Zetsche green-lighted the project, the new three-door C-Class will re-enter a market to fight off, among others, the new 1-Series Coupe.

Based on the C-Class' platform, much like its predecessor, the new coupe is styled for a seamless integration into the line-up, its front end synonymous with the effortless style as on the sedan. Taking cues at the rear from the previous generation, the coupe inherits the raised bootlid from the previous model but loses the rear screen which crept below this spoiler.

The newest shot is of a revised interior, chiefly showing the redesigning of the central console and a new three-spoke steering wheel featuring key controls. Air vents are built into the dashboard at the top of the console, which flows more seamlessly from the transmission tunnel.

Expect a range similar to that of the C-Class, with the entry-level C-Class Sport Coupe featuring a turbocharged 1.8-litre unit and topping off with a 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel. Market entry is scheduled for late 2008 or early next year.
