BMW Alpina introduced the D3 Biturbo, 215 hp power

The German company Alpina has released information about the new diesel engine D3 Biturbo, designed for the third series BMW. Four-cylinder, 2.0-liter capacity, develops 215 hp and 450 Nm of torque at 2,000 rpm.

Transmission for this unit was engaged in company ZF, which has proposed three options: D - full automatic; S - sport & M - manual control. Alpina Engine is based on four-cylinder 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel version of BMW.

Now the engine has two turbochargers, the lowest of which begins to work immediately to start the engine and is able to instantly reach 400 Nm of torque at 1,500 rpm, bringing to a peak moment of 450 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The second compressor is connected in the vicinity of 3,000 rpm, and helps to achieve 215 hp

Thanks to excellent optimization of compressors and fuel injection, acceleration up to the first hundred by a car takes 6.9 seconds, top speed of 244 km / h for the sedan and coupe versions. Touring version reaches 100 km / h in 7.2 seconds, developing a maximum of 241 km / h.

Average fuel consumption BMW Alpina D3 Biturbo is 5.4 liters. 100 km, with CO2 emissions at 144 g / km. All cars with this engine will start-stop system, even versions with manual transmission.
