Audi A2 back in 2012, says site

Audi has already confirmed during the last Geneva Motor Show, the A2 back to life in new generation. "There is clearly room for another product and concept between the A1 and A3," stated Rupert Stadler, Audi's CEO at the time. The resumption of the model that existed between 2000 and 2005 was scheduled for 2014, but according to Autocar the new English site A2 debut in 2012.

The new A2 will aim to tackle the next compact BMW and Mercedes-Benz, still under development. His concept and dynamic visual follow the philosophy of the previous model, but with one big difference: its structure will no longer be constructed of aluminum, but steel, with some parts borrowed from A1. Like almost all current project, the A2 should have an electric version, with technology used by Audi-based e-Tron.

The old generation of A2 was 3.82 m long, but with interior space similar to the A4 at the time. Constructed from aluminum, weighed only 895 kg. In Europe, came with 1.4 liter engines - when running on gasoline, was 19.5 km / l, while the turbodiesel version reached 28.5 km / l.
