Car News_ Audi’s new green baby is shaping up!

Take a look at the smallest, most beautifully formed Audi ever. Auto Express has learned that the German firm is planning a new city car – and it will be based on VW’s ultra-economical micro-machine, the up!

The new baby blends fuel economy and style never seen before from Audi. It will share nearly all its underpinnings with the VW, while maintaining the badge appeal and executive air that buyers have come to expect from the four-ringed brand.


Audi’s new car will rival top-end versions of the Ford Ka and Fiat 500. As you can see from our pictures, the model adds a distinctive body to the chassis of the up!, with a gaping grille, neat headlamps, beefy wheelarches and a sculpted rear end. But the most innovative move – and potentially the model’s biggest selling point – is the choice of ultra-economical powerplants. Engineers at the VW Group are working on a pair of 600cc two-cylinder turbocharged units – one diesel and one petrol.

2010 Ford Fusion Facelift Revealed

Ford has just released the first picture of the 2010 Fusion, a facelifted version of the current car. While the Fusion we have now is a decent ride, it’s just decent. The refreshed Fusion attempts to rectify the current model’s below-class horsepower, among other improvements:

–The current 2.3 liter 4-cylinder is replaced with a “new” 2.5 liter 4-cylinder with 175 horsepower (the same engine that’s in the Mazda6 4-cylinder), a jump of some 14 ponies. Torque for the 4-cylinder is also up to 172 lb ft now, an increase of 16 lb ft. The 4-cylinder also has variable cam timing, a nice addition.

U.K. Pricing Announced for New Ford Ka

Ford has announced UK pricing for the brand new Ka will start at £7,995, when it goes on sale this January. The new model features four different trim levels and a choice of either a petrol or diesel engine.


The top of the range Ka Zetec starts at £9,495 with the petrol engine, while a 1.3 liter diesel version that makes 75 PS and returns 67.3 mpg is priced from £10,195. Both come equipped with the features from the Style + as well as 15" alloy wheels, front fog lights, theatre dimming interior lights, and upgraded instrumentation.


In the £7,995 Studio level Ka, standard features include electric power steering, an adjustable steering wheel, ABS brakes, body-color bumpers, and a six speaker stereo system with a CD and an AUX input.


Style editions start at £8,495 and include heated body-color door mirrors, body-color door handles, remote/central locking, electric front windows, a 50/50 split rear seat, and driver seat memory. For an additional £500, customers can upgrade to the Style + which adds air conditioning and a heated windscreen. All these models can only be equipped with a 1.2 liter petrol engine which produces 69 PS and returns 55.4 mpg in the combined cycle.

2009 Dodge Challenger SRT8 Roadster to Make a Splash at SEMA

We told you that this year's SEMA motorshow will be packed with Challengers -and apparently with Camaros also, but that's another story. Joining the two SEMA show 2009 Dodge Challenger Convertibles from Coach Builders Limited and Newport Convertible Engineering is a third topless version, from Group Five Limited. But unlike the two other proposals, Group Five's Challenger concept is a roadster or better yet, a speedster. And as such, it features a chopped windscreen and seats only for two with the rear passenger area being hidden by a tonneau cover. -Continued

The artists renderings reveal that the customized Dodge benefits from a front spoiler, a hood shaker, a redesigned rear bumper that houses new exhaust pipes as well as what appears to be, a set of restyled rear LED lights. For the time being, we're not aware if the Challenger SRT8 Roadster is simply a design study or if Group Five intends to produce it in a limited number of units, but we'll have all the details along with real-life pictures of the car from the SEMA show floor in less than a week's time.

Porsche Launches Panamera Sports Sedan Teaser Video

Porsche has launched a new teaser video of its upcoming Panamera that gives us an insight into the development of the German brand's first ever sports sedan. The one-and-a-half minute long film shows the Panamera undergoing tests in various parts of the world with the narrator describing the vehicle in the customary press-release sort-of way. Porsche's highly anticipated sports sedan is scheduled to go on sale in 2009 where it will be initially available with naturally aspirated and turbocharged V8 engines followed by a smaller V6 gasoline unit and in late 2010, a hybrid version. SEMA Preview: 2009 Kia Borrego SUV by Turbonetics

Even the new Kia Borrego SUV will make its way to next week's 2008 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Korean firm's body-on-frame SUV has been taken into the loving care of Turbonetics which has prepared a variety of mechanical and styling modifications. The customized Borrego will feature among other things, a Gibson cat-back exhaust and K&N filter, a subtle bodykit complemented by 22-inch alloy wheels in Pirelli Scorpion Zero 265/40R22 tires and a Katzkin Leather interior with suede headliner and pillar wraps.

Pontiac Solstice Based Lamborghini Murcielago Replicon

If someone could please tell us what exactly is so cool or special about this travesty of a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster that could possibly justify the "Buy it Now" price of $70,000 on eBay, we'd deeply appreciate it because as hard as we tried, we couldn't find anything attractive about this car. The only reason we would could think of that someone would buy this ex Pontiac Solstice is to play a nasty joke on a Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster owner by switching cars in the parking lot. -Continued
