Infiniti will make the 3-door hatchback
Infiniti announced that it will be presented in Geneva in March next year, the concept of a new three-door hatchback.
According to the magazine Autocar, the production version will be ready very soon and will be out this autumn in Frankfurt or Tokyo.
"What we will show in Geneva is something quite special, it will be different from everything we've done," said a representative of Infiniti to UK edition. He explains that "the new model is a small car that will exceed all expectations."
According to unconfirmed data, the design was developed in the studio of Infiniti in London, and what we will see in Geneva will be very close to the production model.
It is expected that the three-door hatchback and Infiniti will be assembled on the platform for cars with front-wheel drive from Mercedes-Benz A-Class new generation. This became possible after the cooperation agreement between Daimler and the alliance Renault-Nissan.
The same platform will be used for a new compact crossover of the alliance. Future hatchback Infiniti will receive from Daimler and engines, petrol and diesel by 4 and 6 cylinder.
