Future Mercedes SLK: increased safety
In addition to its electrochromic roof Magic Sky announced a few weeks ago, Mercedes has just introduced some proponents of the technology content of the future SLK expected for the Geneva Motor Show. The program, a pioneer in secure content segment.
Among compact roadsters, the SLK 2011 would therefore face frontline in terms of active and passive safety. Most devices already introduced on the latest E, CL and S will be present including: inter alia, the Attention Assist and the Pre-Safe (braking anticipation of a crash, withdrawal belts before impact). The latter is enriched with a call system for assistance in case of accident, and the automatic opening of windows depending on the impact to ventilate the cabin.
Most of its equipment, optional, should enable the SLK tailgating again its main rival BMW Z4, the current version of the latter accusing only two years design. Features from 3 March at the Geneva show.
