Buick will install a hybrid system on its redesigned Lacrosse for the year 2012 which will be unveiled at Los Angeles. This system, called eAssist will be a "mild-hybrid" which means that the power plant assists the engine but does not work alone. It will be mounted with 4-cylinder 2.4-liter Ecotec. The electric motor develops 15 hp and 107 Nm of torque, the 2.4 liter 182 horsepower and 233 Nm of torque. The gearbox Hydra-Matic 6-speed. Consumption is 25 mpg city and 37 mpg highway (9.41 and 6.36 L/100 km) for a gain of 25% over the 4-cylinder Lacrosse 2011. To better appreciate the performance, I recall that this sedan measuring 5.02 meters. eAssist standart be on the 2012 Buick Lacrosse equipped with 2.4 liter. The entry price will be around $ 30,000. Great promise but look at the pictures of the chest, he may suffer.
