Truth is –and we don’t blame you- that some may mistake the Golf VI for a facelifted Golf V with a set of Scirocco headlights and Touareg tail lamps. Likewise, the Golf VI’s cabin looks like a revamped version of the current generation model’s cabin with bits and pieces from the Scirocco. While the evolutionary look may work for “mama” Porsche, we’re not sure that this is the right way to go in such a competitive segment. Looks aside, when the Golf VI hits European markets in November, it will be offered with a wide variety of turbocharged TSI and TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines, including various versions of the VW Group’s 1.4 TSI and 2.0 TFSI units. The Golf GTI, which is expected in late 2009 – early 2010, will be offered with a 2.0 TFSI engine delivering around 240 HP. While this has not been confirmed yet, rumours have it that the Golf R32's successor will use the Audi S3’s 2.0 TFSI developing close to 280 HP.
