Skoda Going Down-Under: Australian Launch Planned For October

VW Group’s Czech subsidiary is about to enter its fifth continent and at the same time the brand´s 100th market in October as the first Skoda cars are to be delivered to new customers in Australia. “The launch in Australia is another symbol of Skoda Auto´s international expansion”, said Fred Kappler, Skoda BOD Member responsible for sales and marketing. The Czech brand will start its Australian operations with approx. 14 dealerships across the country initially offering the Roomster MPV and the Octavia liftback/station-wagon models, including one of favorite cars, the Octavia RS that’s fitted with the Golf GTI’s 200Hp 2.0 TFSI engine. Skoda’s down-under launch is planned for the Australian International Motor Show 2007 in Sydney (October 11 – 21).
