In Europe, the Volt will be twice more expensive than the U.S.

General Motors reported that sales of hybrid Chevrolet Volt in Europe will begin in November.
The first country which will be sold model is Germany, and the price of the car will be € 41,950. (This is about 56,000 dollars). This price is almost twice higher than the price at which the hybrid car sold in the U.S., where starting from 32,500 dollars.


As is known, the hybrid Chevrolet Volt is a system which includes an electric motor with 150 hp lithium-ion batteries, petrol engine volume 1.4 liters, which is only used for charging batteries.

Only with the help of electricity car can travels on a single charge 64 km. When you include a petrol engine with a tank can be driven 500 km. Charging the battery from the standard loop lasts from 8 to 10 hours.

Sales of the Volt in the U.S. launched at the end of last year, the base price of the hybrid is about 40 000 dollars, but the government subsidizes every buyer with 7500 dollars, so that the final price of the said 32,500 dollars.

Meanwhile it became clear and the price of which in Europe will be sold "twins" on Volt - Opel Ampera. The price of an Opel model in Europe will start from 42,900 euros.
